Lleida is a World Heritage Site
Lleida is world heritage. Its Romanesque jewels in the form of churches and hermitages, its paintings prompting the beginning of mankind, its clean and starry sky, or its abrupt and beautiful mountain landscapes, have no comparison. It’s not only us, UNESCO has recognized up to eight natural and cultural assets of the Pyrenees and the Lands of Lleida as a unique heritage. They are as follows:
Vall de Boí Romanesque set
Time seems to go slowly in this valley that hides up to eight Romanesque temples declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Their unique features, which have resisted for centuries all kinds of catastrophes, and their great display of Romanesque art, makes them real jewels. Your visit is a trip to the 11th and 12th century.

Cave art of the Mediterranean coastal region
Cave art is the language of the world’s first settlers that has survived to this day. The Mediterranean coastal region belongs to the World Heritage Site since 1998. It consists of 16 Lleida sites that present a uniqueness and unparalleled attraction. The paintings of the Roca dels Moros de Cogul, in Les Garrigues, stand out.

Pyrenean Fallas
The towns of the Pyrenees celebrate the Fire Festivals on the shortest night of the year. This festival, which consists of the burning of fallas with different rituals, was declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2015. A great way to welcome the summer!

Thousands of hectares of lagoons, lakes, waterfalls and forests make up this park, the only National Park in Catalonia and one of the most iconic in the country. Aigüestortes is tourist destination and Starlight reserve due to its nature. Located in the north of Lleida, between the Pallars Sobirà and Alta Ribagorça regions, it is the great lung of the province.

The secrets of the planet are found in this basin of the Lleida Pre-Pyrenees.
